Mexico: possible delivery delays and how to plan your frictionless onboarding/offboarding (2026)

Bord
February 23, 2026

In the last few hours they have been reported road blocks And a State of alert in different areas of Mexico, in the context of security incidents linked to organized crime violence. This can generate delays in deliveries and collections (especially in interurban sections and accesses to cities).

Quick summary (for making decisions)

  • They could delay deliveries and/or pickups in Mexico over the next few days.

  • The impact is variable by state/city and it can change quickly.

  • In Bord we are monitoring couriers and suppliers and prioritizing critical orders.

  • If you have an onboarding/offboarding with a fixed date, Contact support to evaluate alternatives.

What is happening and why it may affect logistics

When there are blockages and operational restrictions, carriers can:

  • Redirect routes (longer hours and more risk of delays).

  • Suspend tours in specific areas for safety.

  • To have limited capacity (fewer units operating or shorter windows).

This has a greater impact on shipments that depend on Terrestrial sections and regional hubs.

What are we doing in Bord

To reduce the impact, we activated a contingency scheme:

  1. Daily monitoring with local carriers and partners (state by state).

  2. Review of active orders to identify those that could be affected by route/city.

  3. Prioritization of critical orders (start date, scheduled onboarding, emergency equipment changes).

  4. Proactive communication: If your order falls into a risk/limited logistics zone, we will let you know.

What you can do to avoid friction (checklist)

If your order is urgent or has a fixed date:

For onboarding (employee registration)

  • Confirm address and contact (telephone number + reference) before dispatch, so we will know if it is an affected area or not.

  • Define a delivery window wider if possible

  • If the role starts yes or yes on date: evaluate Plan B (user's own temporary equipment/reprogramming).

For offboarding (low/recovery)

  • If there is a scheduled recall, consider Reschedule to a date with greater road stability.

  • Ensure that the employee has clear instructions

  • If the equipment is critical: ask for temporary security options until it normalizes.
